Allison Cox, Democratic candidate for Bourbon County Judge Executive, announced her candidacy for the November 3, 2026 Kentucky election and affirmed her commitment to strengthening Bourbon County’s economy, supporting strong public education and making everyday life more affordable for local families.

“Our community deserves local leadership that listens and delivers results,’ said Allison Cox. Bourbon County families are working hard but too many are feeling squeezed by rising costs, underfunded schools and limited economic opportunities. I’m running to make sure our county works for everyone–not just the well-connected.” Cox, a resident of Clintonville District, Bourbon County, Kentucky is a small business owner and also operates a small cattle farm with her husband of 32 years Doug Cox.

Strengthening the Local Economy

Allison Cox emphasized policies aimed at supporting local business owners, farmers and employees, including common sense investments in infrastructure, workforce development within our schools and job training programs that prepare Bourbon County residents for good-paying local jobs. The campaign highlighted the importance of keeping local dollars in the community and ensuring Bourbon County benefits from economic growth across the region. Cox pledges to stop raising occupational taxes every year for local business owners. Cox also stated she will never agree to economic projects that include the use of land condemnation or eminent domain on prime Bourbon County farmland.

Investing In and Supporting Strong Public Education

Public Education is a central pillar of Allison Cox’s platform. The campaign calls for stronger support of public schools including advocating for competitive teacher pay, seeking expanded career and technical education opportunities that prepare students for advanced education in college, skilled trades, the military or the workforce right here in Bourbon County. “I am the product of good quality Kentucky public education and my husband Doug and I chose to raise our three children in beautiful Bourbon County and educate them in our local public county and independent city high schools. When we invest in our schools, we invest in the future success and prosperity of Bourbon County,” said Cox. “Every child in Bourbon County deserves a safe and quality education in public schools.”

Addressing Affordability for Families

With rising costs impacting housing, rent, healthcare, utilities and childcare, Cox pledged to fight for practical solutions that lower costs and raise wages. The campaign stressed the need for responsible county budgets and policies that help families stay in their homes, care for their loved ones and plan for a stable future within the Bourbon County community. Cox stated that the brave men and women who serve our community as law enforcement and other first responders must be fully supported and made confident of the county’s ongoing commitment to providing good wages and resources.

A Community-First Approach

Allison Cox closed by emphasizing her commitment to transparent and accountable leadership and working with residents across the political spectrum to lead Bourbon County forward.” This campaign is about our people,” Cox said. “Together we can build a stronger, fairer and more affordable Bourbon County for the next generation when everyone plays by the same rules. Businesses will be confident to locate and expand here in Bourbon County under steady, transparent local government. I will be a County Judge Executive that solves challenges with vision and collaboration that benefits the whole community. I humbly ask for your consideration and your vote on November 3, 2026.”
